I am writing on behalf of the People’s Climate Movement (PCM).
We are a grassroots organization that seeks to motivate civic engagement and political action on climate change.
We would like to express our congratulations on your win at the Supreme Court to hear the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation case against Line 9.
We stand in solidarity with the people of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation and as a small token of our support, have sent … a donation, to help you finance your legal costs.

Status of the Court Case (as of January 2017)

The Supreme Court of Canada has agreed to hear the case against Enbridge Line 9, brought by the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation (COTTFN). This case can set precedent for future cases related to the “Duty to Consult,” the duty of the Crown (the federal government) to consult Aboriginal peoples when actions or decisions may affect a First Nation’s Aboriginal and/or Treaty Rights.
For more information about the lawsuit, see Duty to Consult FAQ Sheet

The Chippewas of the Thames First Nation is located on the north bank of the Thames River approximately 20 km southwest of London, Ontario. The majority of Southwestern Ontario is their modern traditional territory.
