We’re still waiting for Canada to adopt a science-based target!
Canada went into the COP21 international climate talks, committed to a very conservative goal for greenhouse gas reduction – set by the previous Conservative government (emissions targets of 17 per cent reduction from 2005 levels by 2020 and 30 per cent by 2030.)
On Oct. 5th, the House of Commons voted 207 to 81 to endorse the Paris agreement on climate change (Liberal, NDP and Bloc Quebecois MPs voted for it, while Conservative MPs voted against.)
But our emission reduction targets remain the same.
